Overview
ON1 Force is one of the most recognized NFT communities on the blockchain, a collection of 7,777 unique anime-inspired characters that have built a passionate, tightly-knit fanbase around shared identity, lore, and culture. Command Line partnered with the ON1 Force team to bring that community into the world of Fortnite, creating a dedicated space where holders and fans could gather, play together, and celebrate the brand.
The result was a dual-experience build: a community hub world where players could hang out and explore, and a fully playable game world built for competitive play. Together, these two maps gave the ON1 community a persistent home inside one of the world's largest gaming platforms.
The Challenge
Web3 communities are built around digital ownership and shared culture, but they often lack a place to gather and interact beyond Discord channels and Twitter threads. ON1 Force had an incredibly active and loyal community but needed a new way to bring people together, reinforce brand identity, and create memorable shared experiences.
The challenge was to build something that felt authentic to the ON1 world, honoring the community's deep lore and aesthetic while also being fun, replayable, and accessible to Fortnite's broader player base.
Our Approach
Command Line designed two interconnected Fortnite experiences from the ground up, using the visual language and mythology of the ON1 universe as the creative foundation:
- Community Hub World: A dedicated social space for the ON1 community to gather, explore, and connect. The environment was filled with ON1-inspired architecture, visual references, and hidden Easter eggs that rewarded engaged community members who knew the lore. The hub served as a branded home base, a place players could return to before and after game sessions.
- Game World (ONI FORCE: TEAM RUMBLE): A fully playable competitive map designed for fun, replayable gameplay. The layout and environment design drew directly from ON1 community lore, with locations, symbols, and story elements embedded throughout the map. Every corner of the world was intentional, a love letter to the ON1 universe built for the people who know it best.
- Easter Eggs & Community Lore: The map was loaded with hidden references that only true ON1 holders would recognize, driving organic engagement as community members explored, discovered, and shared their finds with each other online.
- Tournaments & Events: Command Line organized and ran tournaments and game nights directly within the Fortnite world, turning the maps into a live events platform. These activations gave the community structured reasons to return, compete, and show up, deepening the sense of belonging and shared experience.
Impact
- Brand Awareness: Brought the ON1 Force brand into Fortnite's massive ecosystem, exposing the NFT community to millions of potential new fans and introducing Fortnite players to the ON1 world.
- Community Engagement: Gave the ON1 community a shared destination to gather, play, and connect beyond traditional social platforms. Game nights and tournaments created recurring moments that strengthened community bonds.
- Lore-Driven Design: The map's deep integration of ON1 mythology and Easter eggs drove discovery and conversation. Community members shared finds, created content, and brought others into the experience organically.
- Replayability: The combination of a social hub and a competitive game world gave players multiple reasons to return, increasing session frequency and total time spent in the ON1 Fortnite ecosystem.
